Hustler vs. Customer

I gotta blow the whistle here.  For a people who are called to be separate and set apart (1 Peter 2:9) from "the world", we sure do act like the rest of these cats.  Without mentioning our celebration of several holidays and the divorce rate, there isn't much difference between the American and the American Christian.  And speaking of family life, that too has become as common as the heathen.  More particularly, we have taken on the very twisted ideals that contemporary society has given us concerning roles of a husband and wife.  For we love to harp on the man not doing his job, but if we read Proverbs 31, we can see it's not a lot of those women around either.  Now this isn't to get the finger pointing started, but it is to say that generally the man and woman who follows Jesus Christ has plenty work to do.

Not so much individual work; because we know the Lord works in us to produce the type of person He needs here on earth.  I'm referring more of the work in the mission field...including Africa and Central America; as well as Hillside Court and Jackson Ward.  And here is where I see the most lack in the Body of Christ (which is designed to not have any lack at all):

**Ahem** The Unwillingness to Minister

Our live streaming services and our thousand seat venues have positioned us to where we would rather hear the Word for ourselves instead of demonstrating the Word to others.  You've heard or said the phrase, "that word was for me!"  Well true, but what if it was for you so you could show someone else how it looks in action?  What's the probability that you're even hearing that word so you can carry it to people that the man or woman of God can't touch?  I believe it's pretty high in most cases.

Because friends, this is where the rubber meets the road.  And it is also where many of us refuse to walk because we are so self-engulfed on the improvement of ourselves we ignore the command from Jesus Himself..."Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone (Mark 16:15, NLT)".  So, while the Messiah is expecting us to encourage others into having a life with Him, many of us are just leeches...seeing how much we can get out of God.

Stop sittin' on your product and get on the grind.

Peace
